Crew on a Ryanair flight from Alicante to Heathrow are the latest to benefit from the 1000 Hours of kindness campaign from Gateway Vineyard church in Norwich thanks to church members Sue and Dave Hatherly.
Sue explained: “As we were flying out on holiday I had the idea of buying chocolate for the crew to give them on the way home and I asked how many crew members there were on board.”
On the flight home, Sue gave one of the flight attendants six large bars of chocolate, explained that she is a Christian and about the 1000 Hours initiative.
“You can’t imagine the response,” said Sue. “Her face lit up and she kept thanking me, saying they’d been up since 2am and this was just what they needed! Another attendant came up and I explained again to her and her response was the same.
“Another attendant also came to thank me and they asked if I would mind having a picture taken with the cabin crew and the chocolate. I think it was for some in-house publication. “As we were getting off the plane, the captain also called ‘thank you’ from the cockpit. It was such a small thing to do, but what a response.” The 1000 hours running total has hit the 320 hours mark, so well done everyone.
