Around a dozen Big Issue sellers and rough sleepers in Norwich benefit from a sandwich, a hot drink and a chat every Saturday morning thanks to the Gateway Vineyard Soup Run team.
During 1000Hours, they are also planning to go out after the church service every Sunday as well and are looking for extra volunteers to join them.
The soup run takes around two hours and involves walking around the regular spots where the sellers and homeless gather in the city centre.
Organiser Peter Elwick, said: ““It is an opportunity to have a chat with somebody and just see how they are doing. It is really good to develop a relationship with them. Part of the motivation for me is the scripture in Matthew 25 where Jesus is saying very clearly, ‘if you are not doing this for these people then you are not doing it for me’. I want to try to be a bit of Jesus really as we go around.”
