We are up and running with the first 70 hours of voluntary work and acts of kindness logged on the 1000 Hours website with two youngsters writing secret thank-you letters to their teachers.
Quick on the starting blocks were Henry (5) and Charlotte (2) who decided to start their 1000 Hours effort by writing ‘Ninja’ thank-you letters to their teachers. The letters were an anonymous thank-you for being great teachers and included a Freddo chocolate frog for good measure.
Mum Judy said: “Henry snuck his onto his teacher’s desk at the start of the day like a true Ninja. Charlotte gave hers to her bop tots teacher in Hingham. Daddy Tom helped Charlotte with her writing. They are trying to do at least one deliberate act of kindness each day.”
Pictured above are Henry, Charlotte and Tom writing secret thank-you letters for teachers.
We want to capture all the fun, feelings and facts of our 1000 Hours campaign as they happen in words, pictures and videos.
We aim to publish a regular blog with news of what’s been happening, pictures of those magic moments of kindness and a running total of the hours clocked up.
To do this we need your help in taking some pictures, short videos and writing a few words about what you have been up to. Please send them to firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible afterwards.
